ROAD CLOSURES AND POSSIBLE DELAYS
This Sunday, April 21, there will be road closures to accommodate the Pike’s Peek 10K race. The race starts at 7:50 am on Redland Road just Northeast of Rockville Pike. Redland Road between Rockville Pike and Crabbs Branch will be closed from 5:00 am to approximately 9:00am. This may cause delays arriving at your destination. See the link below for more information.

We continue to worship in a hybrid fashion. Please worship in the manner which is best for your household. Although we no longer require advance signup for in-person worship, please check in with a greeter as you arrive (for contact tracing purposes if needed). If a change needs to be made to this plan, we will notify you via email.
The image of the good shepherd shows us how the risen Christ brings us to life. It is the relationship between the shepherd and the sheep, one of mutual knowledge and love that gives the shepherd authority. The shepherd’s willingness to lay down his life for the sheep shows his love. First John illustrates what it means to lay down our lives for one another by the example of sharing our wealth with any sibling in need.

Pastor Pauline’s Installation, Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
Join us for the installation of Pastor Pauline Farrington on April 27 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow. Please watch the Bulletin and Tidings for more details.
Reception Following Pr. Pauline’s Installation
Following Pr. Pauline’s installation service on Saturday, April 27 at 11:00 am, we will be serving a selection of hors d’oeuvres along with some sweet items. You will notice that there is quite a variety on the list, plus an “Other” option. Where there are multiple slots for an item category, please indicate what you are bringing. Food items can be homemade or store bought. Several items, at the bottom of the list, will be provided by Trinity so no need to provide more.
Help is also needed for setting up the tables on Friday afternoon; the time to be worked out by those who are able to help. In addition, we will need help on Saturday. Please review the list at the link below and sign-up where you are able. If you have any questions about the reception, please reach out to Nancy J, Miriam M. or Valerie M.
Thank you and we hope to see everyone for the celebration!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!! The Nominating Committee is Seeking Candidates!!
Trinity relies on our Church community family to guide the decision making and activities for our Church. This year nominating committee is reaching out for those who are interested in leading our Church into the future, namely to serve on:
-
- Church Council: 3 year term, we do have a 1-year term to fill if you’d like to give Church Council a try; this group meets monthly
-
- Mission Endowment: 3 year term, you don’t have to be a financial wiz to serve and this group meets only 4 times a year
-
- Synod Assembly: attend the assembly in 2024, as a representative of Trinity; Valerie M and Thor N attended last year if you want to learn more about the experience
-
- Nominating committee: 1 year term
Please reach out to this year’s nominating committee if you have an interest in serving or have questions. We’ll be reaching out to folks in the next month or so seeking candidates.
Yours in Christ,
Mary B

Adult Forum
Adult Forum is continuing the study of Daniel Erlander’s Manna and Mercy on Sunday and continuing this spring until we finish. We are now in the New Testament, having ended with the birth of Jesus prior to Easter. We will see how Jesus’ ministry completes God’s plan to mend the world.
Please join us in Room 10.
New Story Time for Our Youngest Members
This week we will be adding a new element to our faith formation practices and fellowship opportunities. In addition to Sunday School and Adult Forum after coffee hour, our youngest members can enjoy story time. We will be reading one or two stories and children are welcome to bring something of interest for show and tell. We are looking for a few more adult volunteers to share their favorite stories. If you are interested, please contact Margaret F or Valerie M.

Thanks to the many congregation members who continue to support our monthly food drives to support Bethesda Help. We are also pleased that each month we welcome donations from members of the neighborhood. Each month we drop off between 300-500 pounds of food and 10-20 gift cards. Bethesda Help is very appreciative and recognizes Trinity each month in the BH newsletter. Trinity’s food drives will continue the third Saturday of the month from 9-12. The list of food donation requests is on Trinity’s website. If you have any questions, please contact Margaret F at gmfitzwm85@gmail.com.
