Faith is most often caught through meaningful relationships rather than taught through book learning. Everything we do within our Christian community and within our wider community is an opportunity for faith formation and building connections and relationships.
Our Connections Ministry focuses on our relationship with Christ, through our relationships with each other. Through these connections, we are better equipped to go out to love and serve our neighbors.
We strive to be a community where all are known, loved, and belong.
Faith Formation

Christian Education at Trinity is moving beyond the traditional classroom format. Faith Formation is for all ages through a variety of opportunities for engagement. While we offer traditional options for different age groups, we also have opportunities for the different generations to come together to share their faith stories or discuss faith related topics.
Along with more traditional classes, we also invite guest speakers, have guided conversations alongside service projects, and provide seasonal resources for use in the home.
Children & Family Ministry
Through our ministry with children and their families, we look to build up lifelong disciples of Jesus by equipping parents and guardians, providing children social opportunities, having children serve in worship leadership, and creating chances for meaningful relationships to happen across the ages.
Sunday School

- We are currently offering a short story time for preschoolers. This time together may also include a quick and simple craft or game.
- Our children in K-3 meet weekly and focus on the stories from the day’s Bible texts, using games, crafts, and conversation to make connections with what was heard in worship.
- Children in 4th grade and up at this time are engaged in a pre-confirmation class which works through the Old Testament in a year and then the New Testament in a year.
- We currently do not have students of traditional youth group age but anticipate reviving this important ministry in the next year or two. Time with peers in fellowship, service, learning, and prayer is critical to growing disciples.
Confirmation
We are preparing to launch a new confirmation program and class of students in the Fall of 2025.
Our new program will be formatted to take place during 6 weekend retreats over the course of 3 years. Other elements may include a mentorship program and a university model of engagement in the life of the congregation and the wider community.
Adult Forum
Meets most Sundays during the school year and may focus on a book or theme of the Bible, an ELCA social statement, or any number of other topics as they relate to our faith.
Fellowship
Connections are made with others through the entire life of the congregation, including worship and service. Intentional times of fellowship vary from congregation wide events to retreats and other small group gatherings. Food is often (always?) present at fellowship events.

- Coffee and snacks following each Sunday worship offers regular opportunities to build and strengthen relationships.
- Large Group activities include such things as Octoberfest, pancake supper, and the parish picnic.
- Small Group activities vary from meals out, book discussions, hikes, or joining the Trinity team in the Montgomery County Interfaith 5k.
- Our Men’s Group meets regularly on the 2nd Friday of the month at the home of a Trinity member.
- In the fall we have an overnight women’s retreat.
- Seasonal Advent and Lenten soup suppers precede evening prayer services.
Parish Care
We take care of each other spiritually through our Stephen Ministers, and physically by providing meals and rides as the needs arise.
Stephen Ministry

Trinity has a team of Stephen Ministers who are extensively trained in caring for individuals by providing one-on-one care to those experiencing difficult life transitions, such as: grief, divorce, job loss, or chronic or terminal illness. The caring relationship can last as long as the recipient desires and is completely confidential.
A Stephen Minister’s commitment is born of their love of Jesus and their desire to care for others in times of need. To find out more about Stephen Ministry, please contact Pastor Pauline or one of the Stephen Ministry Leaders.
Scouting
We are currently the sponsoring organization of two scout groups. BSA Troop 1149 meets off site. Cub Pack 60 meets at Trinity for monthly pack meetings and for den meetings once a month. When possible, we partner with these groups for various activities including our annual Scout Sunday.
