+WORSHIP | IN-PERSON or ONLINE | 9:30 AM+
A little faith goes a long way is Jesus’ point in the gospel. A mustard seed’s-worth of faith has miraculous potential. The patience, tenacity, and endurance required for the life of faith are the blessings received in holy baptism, holy communion, and the word read and proclaimed in this assembly. Anticipate them. Receive them with thanksgiving.

+COMMUNITY NEWS+
Dear Members and Friends of Trinity,
I am saddened by Pastor Christine’s coming departure as she accepts a new opportunity with Lutheran Social Services. If there were any way to persuade her to reconsider her decision, I would most certainly have attempted to do so. However, I must respect that she is following her call and know that she will do great good in her next career.
There are probably many questions among the Congregation right now about what has happened and what will happen now. As announced today by our Vice President Nancy N, the Council will host an open forum on Sunday, October 2, following worship. This will be an opportunity to answer your questions, update you on transition planning, and start coming together for the next phase of Trinity’s life. Please feel free to send questions in advance to Len S. gigantor@erols.com
Join via zoom as well here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82782360050
If you wish to leave a message instead, please call Len’s phone number 301-442-4367.This will help us to organize our responses to the top questions.
On Saturday, the Council had an all-day retreat with congregational coach Michelle Snyder, who has recently presented to the Congregation. This retreat had been planned for months, but we were fortunate to use the occasion to organize transition planning in addition to strategic planning. We want to assure you that you are at the top of our minds, that initial transition steps are being put in place, and that we will engage the Congregation throughout this transition.
I am so grateful to Pastor Christine for the truths that she has revealed to us and the leadership she has shown through a key moment in Trinity’s life. I know God will shine on Pastor Christine as she continues to follow her call.
In peace,
Kim B
Congregation President

Lutheran World Relief :
Provides families facing crisis with emergency food, clean water, safe shelter, medical supplies and more.

The Social Ministry Team shared that starting in July our monthly food drive collection will be given to Bethesda Help (bethesdahelp.org). A thank you note from Bethesda Help following our first drop off included “ I got a bit emotional after seeing all of the food – so nicely organized – it came at a perfect time.” They also noted that we donated 415 pounds of food; those cans really add up! Thanks to all for their ongoing support of the food drives – the need in the community continues to grow. Trinity’s food drives will continue the third Saturday of the month from 9-12. The list of food donation requests is on Trinity’s website. If you have any questions please contact Margaret F at gmfitzwm85@gmail.com
Afghan Refugees (LSS): Lutheran Social Services (LSS) is reaching out with immediate needs due to the influx of Afghan refugees arriving in this area. They are in need of drivers, storage space, rooms on a temporary basis, and housing settlement. Contact: https://bit.ly/3z6u2Xj
