+WORSHIP | IN-PERSON or ONLINE | 9:30 AM+
Pray always. Do not lose heart. This is Christ’s encouragement in the gospel today. Wrestle with the word. Remember your baptism again and again. Come regularly to Christ’s table. Persistence in our every encounter with the divine will be blessed.

Nominations for Call Committee
“This week, the Council is beginning to select candidates for the call committee. The call committee plays the leading role during the pastoral transition in the process of discernment and interviewing candidates. Per Trinity’s constitution, the call committee is elected by the congregation and nominations can be taken from the floor. If you would like to nominate someone to serve on the call committee, please contact Nancy Nielsen. email@example.com“
HANDBELL WOW !
Have you noticed how especially shiny our handbells look today? On Friday. October 14, 2022, we had our complete set of 5 octaves professionally refurbished. This included taking each bell apart, cleaning and polishing the castings inside and out, then replacing all worn out washers, spacers, restraining springs, handles, and clapper heads. After the handbells were re-assembled, each one was adjusted and “voiced” so that they are all in synch with each other as a unified set. Basically, this means our handbells are “like new” again. Come and take a closer look – but please don’t touch our newly polished instrument !
In addition, 3 of our 5 octaves of handchimes were inspected and adjusted for peak performance.
We are pleased to report that the entire cost for these refurbishments was covered by our Handbell Special Fund, which had accumulated over time from gifts from individuals, honorariums and offerings from our handbell concerts, and a Mission Endowment Gift.
If you enjoy hearing our handbells, you can’t imagine how much fun it is to ring them. Speak to our ringers or director today to learn how you can join our handbell choir. Free ringing lessons will be provided to all new participants.

Community Shred Day | Nov 7 | 2-5 pm
Do you have papers sitting around that need to be shredded, and you don’t want to burn out your shredder? First come first served. This event will benefit Bethesda Help’s food bank. Cost per box or bag is 3 cans of food. Here is a link to their list of approved food items: https://bit.ly/3rJQCUs
Note: Paper cannot be dropped off in advance; Trinity will not be responsible for items left unattended.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed!
Nothing elaborate is needed…we need folks to make/put out the coffee, and provide light snacks. On Sundays before our monthly food drive we will have “Hunger Sunday” as a simple reminder of food insecurity in the world. Hunger Sunday coffee hour will be limited to coffee, juice and water – no snacks. Hosting involves simple set up and tidying up afterwards. To select a Sunday that is convenient for you, a Sign Up Genius has been set up for future Sundays; please use this link to sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050e4caba82f4-coffee If you have questions or need help signing up, reach out to Margaret F at firstname.lastname@example.org or Chelsea Y at email@example.com
To Accommodate Those who Wish to Donate to our AV Efforts, we have recently established a livestream/technology special fund. This fund will be used to purchase additional microphones, cameras, and AV equipment that may be needed to support our efforts to improve sound quality (both online and in-person) and our online worship experience. Any donations should be notated “Livestream Technology Special Fund” in the memo

Many of us feel helpless in the wake of the Russian invasion into Ukraine and want to help. These are three sources that are providing immediate and direct support to the Ukrainian people:
Lutheran Disaster Response
Provides refugees with immediate support and supplies such as food, blankets, water and hygiene kits.
Lutheran World Relief :
Provides families facing crisis with emergency food, clean water, safe shelter, medical supplies and more.
World Central Kitchen:
Provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises, building resilient food systems with locally led solutions.
Please mark ‘Ukrainian relief’ with your choice of beneficiary in the memo of checks.
Food Collection: October 15 | 9 am- Noon | Trinity Parking Lot | See the list of critical food needs here
Our monthly food drive collection will be given to Bethesda Help (bethesdahelp.org). A thank you note from Bethesda Help following our first drop off included “ I got a bit emotional after seeing all of the food – so nicely organized – it came at a perfect time.” They also noted that we donated 415 pounds of food; those cans really add up! Thanks to all for their ongoing support of the food drives – the need in the community continues to grow. Trinity’s food drives will continue the third Saturday of the month from 9-12. The list of food donation requests is on Trinity’s website. If you have any questions please contact Margaret F at email@example.com
