+WORSHIP | IN-PERSON or ONLINE | 9:30 AM+
Jesus does not abandon his followers. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus comes to abide with his disciples of every generation. As Pentecost draws near, we are reminded that the risen Christ dwells in us as the Spirit of truth. We receive this Spirit in baptism and pray that in our gathering around the Lord’s table the Spirit will transform us to be the body of the risen Christ in the world.

Call Committee Progress
Before a slate of candidates is provided by the Synod, the Call Committee must prepare a Ministry Site Profile (MSP). The MSP is a standardized form requiring basic statistical information, as well as in depth questions about the Congregation. The Call Committee has submitted the MSP to the Synod and it has been approved by the Bishop. We are optimistic we will receive a slate of candidates in the next few weeks. For more background on the development of the MSP, please see the April Trinitarian.
The Call Committee is excited to move on to the next step of the Call Process. We will keep the Congregation up to date on our progress. Please feel free to reach out to any of us with questions or concerns. We ask that you continue to keep our call process in your prayers.
Yours in Christ,
The Call Committee
Alleluia Poster
A large coloring poster is available Sunday mornings during the Easter season. As the coloring prayer station seemed to be well enjoyed, the poster is open for everyone to enjoy. You are invited to sit at the table, color for a bit and engage in conversation.
Trinity Women’s Retreat September 29-30
Friday 7:00 pm through Saturday 3:00 pm
R.S.V.P. Deadline is June 1st
We will be going on retreat Friday through Saturday in September, staying in the main camp area at Mar-Lu-Ridge in Jefferson, MD (1 hour from Trinity). The cost for the 1 night plus breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be $90. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Staying at the main camp will give us easy access to the dining hall, labyrinth, chapels, and the trail to shock rock for those so inclined. The theme and schedule (including end time) will be worked out over the summer, but there will be a mix of structured time and down time.
We are looking into the option of adding Friday dinner for those who may wish to arrive a bit earlier. Otherwise, Friday dinner will be on your own before you leave or bring a bagged dinner to have upon arrival. Snacks and water will be supplied for our stay. The cabins have 2 sleeping rooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs and a gathering space upstairs. You will need to bring a pillow, bed linens (twin) or sleeping bag, and toiletries and towel. Carpooling will be an option. Please watch for more details as plans come together. If you have any questions or want to reserve your space, please see Valerie M.

+DONATIONS AND AID NEEDED+
May is Mothers’ Month
The Social Ministry Team has expanded Mothers’ Day to a Month! During May we will be collecting disposable diapers for the Greater DC Diaper Bank. Our goal is to collect 3,500 diapers (about the # of diapers a newborn uses in a year). All size diapers are welcome, but there is always a great need for larger sizes (4-5). Opened packages of diapers are accepted as long as the size is marked. Drop off diapers any Sunday in May in the Social Hall or during our monthly food drive on Saturday, May 20. If you do not have time to shop, feel free to make an offering noting that the donation is for the “diaper drive”.
The Greater DC Diaper Bank (GDCDB) works to empower vulnerable families and individuals by providing an adequate and reliable source for basic baby needs and personal hygiene products across the Washington, DC metropolitan area. GDCDB is one of the largest diaper banks in the country, distributing nine million diapers a year. Check out greaterdcdiaperbank.org
– We believe changing babies changes lives.
God’s Work, Our Hands
Early Registration Opens for the Sept 4 Interfaith 5K Race | May 15
It’s that time again! Early registration for the Montgomery County Interfaith 5K opens on May 15th. Five Montgomery County religious communities are partnering to create the seventh annual Interfaith 5K. Their goal is to bring together communities of faith in the county so people from diverse backgrounds can join forces to share a fun and health-promoting activity, teach tolerance through exposure and friendship and enjoy each other’s company. The 2023 race beneficiaries are Gaithersburg Help and C-4, an interfaith group serving the needs of the Colesville Community. Race day is Labor Day, September 4th. For more information check out their website at https://mocointerfaith5k.org or contact Leslie S.
Food Collection: Food Drive | May 20, 2023 | 9-noon | See the list of critical food needs here
Thanks to the many congregation members who continue to support our monthly food drives to support Bethesda Help. We are also pleased that each month we welcome donations from members of the neighborhood. Each month we drop off between 300-500 pounds of food and 10-20 gift cards. Bethesda Help is very appreciative and recognizes Trinity each month in the BH newsletter. Trinity’s food drives will continue the third Saturday of the month from 9-12. The list of food donation requests is on Trinity’s website. If you have any questions please contact Margaret F at gmfitzwm85@gmail.com
