Called by the Holy Trinity, we come together during this season of PRIDE, remembering that PRIDE was a holy protest. When met by destruction, devastation, and derision, we are called to hurl bricks of love and justice.
We stand firm in our identity of radical invitation, extraordinary hospitality, and audacious love for all of our neighbors. In this space, we welcome people of every race, ethnicity, size, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, socio-economic status, and background. We loudly proclaim that we are enough, we are loved extravagantly, we are your rightful heirs to your realm. We come together, remembering that God calls us into beloved community with one another. We honor the sacredness of one another’s bodies by asking for consent before we embrace one another.

Welcome Back Pr. Peter Bastien
The Rev. Peter E. Bastien retired from Christ the Servant Church in Montgomery Village, which he served for 25 years, in 2010. He served four parishes during his time in the ministry. He is married to Patricia and has two grown daughters, Florence and Sarah. He is the author of PRAYING WITH MARTIN LUTHER. He and Pat live in Gaithersburg.
Clean Up Day at Trinity!!!
Cleanliness is next to godliness! Or so says the proverb. So come and join in cleaning our church on Saturday, June 10 beginning at 9:00 am. Bring gloves, cleaning supplies and small buckets.

The Call process continues moving forward. Last week the Synod provided the Call Committee a slate of three Pastoral candidates for consideration.
Please remember while the Call Committee is happy to discuss the process, they cannot share any information about candidates. Confidentiality is critical to the process.

Flat Jesus is back!
Pick up a flat Jesus from the Social Hall. Color Him and take Him on your travels this summer. Snap a selfie and send it to the church. We will be displaying your pictures in future church publications.
Trinity Women’s Retreat September 29-30
Friday 7:00 pm through Saturday 3:00 pm
R.S.V.P. Deadline is August 1st
We will be going on retreat Friday through Saturday in September, staying in the main camp area at Mar-Lu-Ridge in Jefferson, MD (1 hour from Trinity). The cost for the 1 night plus breakfast and lunch on Saturday will be $90, plus $10 for materials, drinks, and snacks. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Staying at the main camp will give us easy access to the dining hall, labyrinth, chapels, and the trail to shock rock for those so inclined. The theme and schedule (including end time) will be worked out over the summer, but there will be a mix of structured time and down time.
Friday dinner will be on your own before you leave or come early (5:00 p.m.) and bring a bagged dinner to have picnic style. Snacks and water will be supplied for our stay. The cabins have 2 sleeping rooms and 2 bathrooms downstairs and a gathering space upstairs. You will need to bring a pillow, bed linens (twin) or sleeping bag, and toiletries and towel. Carpooling will be an option. Please watch for more details as plans come together. If you have any questions or want to reserve your space, please see Valerie M.

New Wine High School Theater Troupe Returns to Trinity to Perform The Sound of Music | June 16
New Wine is sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation located in Cloquet, MN (about 15 miles south of Duluth, MN). They performed Godspell and Les Miserables at Trinity on past tours and will perform again on June 16 at 7 pm, this time featuring The Sound of Music.

We would like to put together a list of folks who are interested in helping out with our music ministry during the summer months.
We are looking for anyone with an interest in singing or playing any instrument (or learning how to!) If you can’t commit to weekly rehearsals during the year, here’s a chance to drop in for a week or two when you are in town.

Help Provide Meals for New Wine High School Theater Troupe
New Wine will dine at Trinity on Friday evening. Fred S. is arranging that meal. Thank you Fred! Trinity will provide grab-and-go breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please consider donating some items for these breakfasts. We need fruit (apples, bananas, or small oranges), and bottles of water for 45 people. Thanks to the many congregation members who continue to support our monthly food drives to support Bethesda Help. We are also pleased that each month we welcome donations from members of the neighborhood. Each month we drop off between 300-500 pounds of food and 10-20 gift cards. Bethesda Help is very appreciative and recognizes Trinity each month in the BH newsletter. Trinity’s food drives will continue the third Saturday of the month from 9-12. In April 2023 Trinity hosted a very successful Blood Drive with the American Red Cross. Given the continued need for blood and our success, our next drive is scheduled at Trinity: Tuesday, June 27, 1-6 pm
