+WORSHIP | IN-PERSON or ONLINE | 9:30 AM+
Invited and inviting—that is the nature of the church. By God’s grace in holy baptism we have a place at Christ’s banquet table. When, by the power of that same Spirit, humility and mutual love continue among us, the church can be more inviting still.

We continue to worship in a hybrid fashion. Please worship in the manner which is best for your household. Although we no longer require advance signup for in-person worship, please check in with a greeter as you arrive (for contact tracing purposes if needed). If a change needs to be made to this plan, we will notify you via email.
We’ve received a few notices that a new scam is making its rounds. If you receive an email that seems questionable, please contact the office to check the validity of the email. Please do NOT click on links that you’re unsure of, buy gift cards without checking directly with the office, or give money to unknown people. You can also double check the sending email address. Often the email address is similar, but not entirely correct. Thank you for your vigilance.
We are updating our member directory, which will include a paper and an online version! Please provide your most recent contact information and indicate whether you would like your information in the online version https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeC85r2Nls5g5AyOA120757gIgiHXGxjBLhd06B0EVakpf2dA/viewform?usp=sf_link

A few of us are meeting at 4:00 on Saturday afternoon to set up tables and chairs in the social hall for our conversation and lunch on Sunday. If anyone has a few minutes and would like to help out, a couple of pairs of extra hands would be appreciated. It shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes. If you are willing to help, please send an email to email@example.com. Thank you.

Thank you to all of you who filled out our congregational survey! Please plan on attending the ‘next step’ in our future planning on August 28th. As many of us know, the abuse of opioids has reached a crisis stage and many are dying due to overdose. Knowing how to administer naloxone/narcan can save a life. We are hosting a free, in-person training to help equip you, should you ever find yourself in a position needing to help. During this training, you will learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer naloxone/narcan. This important training takes place on Saturday, September 17 at 10:30 AM at Trinity. The training will last about an hour. RSVP is required to attend. Please use this link to sign up or see Pastor Christine with questions.
We still have a few of the t-shirts we designed and ordered last year. If you didn’t order one but would like one, they are $9 and are currently available in these colors…gold (1), iris blue (1), and Carolina blue (4). All are adult large. It’s first come first served. Send an email with the color (s) you want to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed!
Nothing elaborate is needed…we need folks to make/put out the coffee, and provide light snacks. On Sundays before our monthly food drive we will have “Hunger Sunday” as a simple reminder of food insecurity in the world. Hunger Sunday coffee hour will be limited to coffee, juice and water – no snacks. Hosting involves simple set up and tidying up afterwards. To select a Sunday that is convenient for you, a Sign Up Genius has been set up for future Sundays; please use this link to sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050e4caba82f4-coffee If you have questions or need help signing up, reach out to Margaret F at email@example.com or Chelsea Y at firstname.lastname@example.org
To Accommodate Those who Wish to Donate to our AV Efforts, we have recently established a livestream/technology special fund. This fund will be used to purchase additional microphones, cameras, and AV equipment that may be needed to support our efforts to improve sound quality (both online and in-person) and our online worship experience. Any donations should be notated “Livestream Technology Special Fund” in the memo

The Montgomery County Interfaith 5K is a unique race that brings together people from all walks of life, religious backgrounds, ethnicities, and fitness levels. But, what everyone has in common is a desire to come together to foster relationships and unity, while giving back to the community and building a more inclusive and healthier Montgomery County.
The 5K can be run or walked, and strollers are welcome! Let’s gather a group together and make public witness to our commitment to care for our community, share information about our congregation, and enjoy meeting others!
The race takes place on September 5th at 8am at the Maryland Soccerplex. Registration is now open.

Many of us feel helpless in the wake of the Russian invasion into Ukraine and want to help. These are three sources that are providing immediate and direct support to the Ukrainian people:
Lutheran Disaster Response
Provides refugees with immediate support and supplies such as food, blankets, water and hygiene kits.
Lutheran World Relief :
Provides families facing crisis with emergency food, clean water, safe shelter, medical supplies and more.
World Central Kitchen:
Provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises, building resilient food systems with locally led solutions.
Please mark ‘Ukrainian relief’ with your choice of beneficiary in the memo of checks.
The Social Ministry Team shared that starting in July our monthly food drive collection will be given to Bethesda Help (bethesdahelp.org). A thank you note from Bethesda Help following our first drop off included “ I got a bit emotional after seeing all of the food – so nicely organized – it came at a perfect time.” They also noted that we donated 415 pounds of food; those cans really add up! Thanks to all for their ongoing support of the food drives – the need in the community continues to grow. Trinity’s food drives will continue the third Saturday of the month from 9-12. The list of food donation requests is on Trinity’s website. If you have any questions please contact Margaret F at email@example.com
